Big Adventures

Hi Maggie,

We have been very busy ever since our friends from Sioux Narrows arrived. The weather has finally improved and we are getting lots of sunshine. We took a boat trip and it was a lot of fun. We saw lots of eagles but no seals. We have had two trips to Victoria and that was really nice. Last night we met up with a group of Granddads old University friends - he hadn't seen them for 47 years! We had dinner at the Sampan Chinese Restaurant (a favourite of ours) and it was very nice.

We only have a few days left here and then we will fly back home. We then will see you on the week-end. Looking forward to seeing you.

Hi Maggie,

It was great to talk to you yesterday. We had lots of family to visit and are having a good time. The group picture is Uncle Allan, Aunt Donna, Jamie & Scott, Nai Nai and Granddad. We were playing miniature golf and Granddad won! The other pictures are Scott with his girlfriend, Jamie and Uncle Allan & Aunt Donna - taken at an Irish Pub on St. Patrick's Day.


We are still getting lots of rain but were able to get out yesterday for a walk and golf. As Granddad says, at least it isn't snow.

Gayle & Dan arrive tomorrow so we are looking forward to seeing them.

LOTS and LOTS OF RAIN!

Hi Maggie,

We have been having a lot of rain lately, hopefully, it will clear up soon. The weather is fairly mild and we have been doing a lot. Thank goodness we have our rain coats and hats!

Yesterday we went to the town of Cumberland which is an old coal mining town and went through a very interesting museum.

The herring run is on now and there are lots of fishing boats. Also, we have seen hundreds of gulls and seals that are feeding on the herring. There are also a lot of eagles. It is very interesting.

It was nice to talk to you the other day. We will call you again soon.

Hi From Parksville

Hi Maggie,

We are in Parksville and have a very nice condo. The weather is getting warm - +15C yesterday and we are doing a lot of exploring.

Yesterday, we went into Nanaimo and had a long walk along the waterfront. We saw lots of boats and planes and even some otters.

Brrr - It's Cold

Hi Maggie,

It's been cold here and it even snowed yesterday. The snow didn't last but did stay around in the higher areas.

Today was much nicer and we went for a long walk. The flowers are all out and it looks very pretty.

Hi Maggie,

We are in Victoria and having a great time. This is Granddad with your cousin Freda.



Last night we went to the Sampan Restaurant and they had Chinese New Year's dinner - it was very good. This is cousin Freda & Malcolm and Nai Nai and Granddad.



Hope you have a good day and the bad weather doesn't last too long. We saw a picture in the Victoria paper of morning traffic in Toronto.
